Rick Warren Hears Call for Judaeo-Christian-Islam Moderates to Unite [February 04, 2006 @ 11:49pm]

atomicjedi
More Apostasy from the Author of the Best Selling "Purpose Driven Life" Book

Here's an excerpt from the Washington Times article today on the National Prayer Breakfast yesterday. Rick Warren, of course, was among the thousands of evangelicals who clapped like seals at these words from the King of Jordan. (At a prayer breakfast sponsored by evangelicals!)

King Abdullah II of Jordan quoted from the Bible and the Koran in a brief speech to a lunchtime crowd of 2,000 mostly evangelical Christians yesterday, invoking "our Judeo-Christian-Islamic heritage" and urging moderates of the three great religions to unite.

"At this point in history, our service to God, our countries and our peoples demands that we confront extremism in its myriad forms," he told listeners at the annual National Prayer Breakfast luncheon at the Washington Hilton.
"To overcome this common foe, we must explore the values that unite us, rather than exaggerating the misunderstandings that divide us."

I have no "Judeo-Christian-Muslim" heritage and the mere suggestion is an outrage. Fundamentalist Christians haven't been known to fly planes into buildings. The only threat we represent is presenting the truth of God's Word. No wonder Rick Warren considers fundamentalism a danger.

United States Patent: Tattoo ID [February 03, 2006 @ 6:39pm]

atomicjedi
A method is presented for facilitating sales transactions by electronic media. A bar code or a design is tattooed on an individual. Before the sales transaction can be consummated, the tattoo is scanned with a scanner. Characteristics about the scanned tattoo are compared to characteristics about other tattoos stored on a computer database in order to verify the identity of the buyer. Once verified, the seller may be authorized to debit the buyer's electronic bank account in order to consummate the transaction. The seller's electronic bank account may be similarly updated.

Democracy, Muslim Style [January 27, 2006 @ 6:24pm]

atomicjedi
by Hal Lindsey

As you can imagine, everyone is asking me my take on the significance of the Hamas victory in "Democratic elections" held in the West Bank and Gaza.

Let me put this into the larger context of my view on the situation. I view all of this from the vantage point of God's prophecies concerning His miraculous restoration of Israel as a nation in the land He unconditionally promised them "in the last days."

God predicted the following things through the prophet Ezekiel, in stages:

Stage 1

The physical restoration of the Israelites to nationhood in their ancient home land from their worldwide dispersion:

Thus says the Lord God, "Behold, I will take the sons of Israel from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel ..."

Rick Warren Exposed By His Own Words [January 20, 2006 @ 12:27pm]

atomicjedi
On May 23, 2005 Rick Warren, author of the bestselling book The Purpose Driven Life, was a guest speaker at The Pew Forum on Religion. Read the transcripts for Rick Warren's interview.

During this interview, Warren said "Now the word 'fundamentalist' actually comes from a document in the 1920s called the Five Fundamentals of the Faith. And it is a very legalistic, narrow view of Christianity."

What are the Five Fundamentals of the Christian Faith?

1. The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2. The Virgin Birth.

3. The Blood Atonement.

4. The Bodily Resurrection.

5. The inerrancy of the scriptures.

Is this a legalistic, narrow view of Christianity or the building blocks upon which our faith is based? Few Christians will deny the deity of Jesus Christ, the virgin birth, His crucifixion for our sins, His resurrection, or the infallibility of the Word of God. So exactly which of these tenants does Mr. Warren disagree?

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Mat 7:16 You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

Mat 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord! Lord! Did we not prophesy in Your name, and through Your name throw out demons, and through Your name do many wonderful works?

Mat 7:23 And then I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from Me, those working lawlessness!

National ID cards on the way? [January 18, 2006 @ 12:33pm]

atomicjedi
A recent vote in Congress endorsing standardized, electronically readable driver's licenses has raised fears about whether the proposal would usher in what amounts to a national ID card.

In a vote that largely divided along party lines, the U.S. House of Representatives approved a Republican-backed measure that would compel states to design their driver's licenses by 2008 to comply with federal antiterrorist standards. Federal employees would reject licenses or identity cards that don't comply, which could curb Americans' access to everything from airplanes to national parks and some courthouses.

The congressional maneuvering takes place as governments are growing more interested in implanting technology in ID cards to make them smarter and more secure. The U.S. State Department soon will begin issuing passports with radio frequency identification, or RFID, chips embedded in them, and Virginia may become the first state to glue RFID tags into all its driver's licenses.

Computer Chips Get Under Skin of Enthusiasts [January 08, 2006 @ 11:13am]

atomicjedi
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Forgetting computer passwords is an everyday source of frustration, but a solution may literally be at hand -- in the form of computer chip implants.

With a wave of his hand, Amal Graafstra, a 29-year-old entrepreneur based in Vancouver, Canada, opens his front door. With another, he logs onto his computer.

Tiny radio frequency identification (RFID) computer chips inserted into Graafstra's hands make it all possible.

"I just don't want to be without access to the things that I need to get access to. In the worst case scenario, if I'm in the alley naked, I want to still be able to get in (my house)," Graafstra said in an interview in New York, where he is promoting the technology. "RFID is for me."

UN: A Moment of Silence for Suicide Bombers [December 08, 2005 @ 8:56pm]

atomicjedi
The United Nations held a "Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People" last week. A large map of “Palestine,” with Israel literally wiped off the map, featured prominently in the festivities.

The ceremony was held at the UN headquarters in New York and was attended by Secretary General Kofi Annan and the Presidents of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly.

Map of "Palestine" from the Jordan River to the sea, with no mention of the Jewish State.

During the festivities, a map labeled a "map of Palestine” was displayed prominently between UN and PLO flags. The map, with “Palestine” written in Arabic atop it, does not include Israel, a member of the UN for 56 years. The map does not even demarcate the partition lines of November 29, 1947, marking a Jewish state alongside an Arab state. The partition was dictated by the UN General Assembly itself.

With the map hanging behind him, Secretary-General Annan addressed the public meeting at UN Headquarters.

At the start of the ceremony, the dignitaries present asked attendees to observe a moment of silence. “I invite everyone present to rise and observe a minute of silence in memory of all those who have given their lives for the cause of the Palestinian people,” the master of ceremonies said, “and the return of peace between Israel and Palestine.“

Anne Bayefsky, who reported on the event for the Eye on the UN organization, said that the ceremony's wording was aimed at giving honor to the worst of Palestinian terrorists. "It was a moment ... crafted to include the commemoration of suicide-bombers,” she wrote.

In response to the event, Bayefsky and her organization have once again asked the U.S. to withhold funding from the UN.

The goal of this meeting of the Quartet is the creation of a Palestinian state along side Israel in order to reach agreements on the West Bank and Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. In other words, the meeting was held in order to bring a time of peace to Israel. And, according to the Bible, it could well be the false peace of prophecy (Daniel 9:27, Revelation 13:18).

There Goes America [September 01, 2005 @ 7:55pm]

Simmons told the assembled energy moguls, "Demand is pulling away from supply... and we have to ask whether we have the resources that we think we do. It could be catastrophic if we do not anticipate when peak oil comes."

Since he made his comments, oil prices have already doubled. His prediction of $100 a barrel may not be three years away. We could easily reach that level before year's end.

Simmons' reference to 'peak oil' refers to the point when an oil field reaches peak production before beginning to deplete available supplies.

According to the International Energy Agency, which collates data from all oil producing countries, peak oil will arrive "sometime between 2013 and 2037. The IEA says that after that point, production will decline by about 3% per year.
Simmons said that official US Geological Survey estimates that it will not happen for 35 years are over-optimistic.

Chris Skrebowski, of the Energy Institute in London, citing Exxon statistics, said that the depletion of global conventional oil reserves was running at about 5% a year now. He told the conference, “Norway, Venezuela, the UK and Indonesia and many others are all declining production. I expect Denmark, Malaysia, China, Mexico and Brunei to peak within three years. I estimate that we have, at best, 32 months before [the crisis] hits.”

Our energy supplies situation could hardly be more precarious. All honest projections of America’s present energy future lead toward catastrophe.

The Ushering in of 666? [August 28, 2005 @ 12:03pm]

atomicjedi
Applied Digital wants millions of Americans to be implanted with an RFID chip for medical purposes, and the Frist-Clinton bill (S. 1262) would pave the way.

Former Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Tommy Thompson, who served in the Bush administration’s first term, recently joined the board of directors of Florida-based Applied Digital. Applied Digital is the owner of VeriChip, the company that specializes in making implantable radio frequency identification chips (RFID) for both people and pets.

On July 31, London’s The Business reported that Thompson “is putting the final touches to a plan that could result in US citizens having [an RFID] chip inserted under their skin.” Scott Silverman, CEO of Applied Digital, told WebMD Medical News on July 27 that “some 2,000 people worldwide are using” his company’s implants. “But,” the WebMD report noted, “soon he expects that millions of people will get VeriChip implants every year.”

Silverman also commented to WebMD that when his company “first announced VeriChip, a network poll asked people if they would put one in their bodies. Only 9% said yes. After FDA approval [in October 2004], 19% said yes. When former HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson joined our board, the rate went up to 33%. But our own study shows that if you ask people whether they would have a VeriChip implant to identify their medical records in case of emergency, the positive response goes to 80%.”

Skeptics will dismiss Silverman’s optimistic business forecast as greatly exaggerated, and those with a natural distrust of polls will question the validity of the data. But putting that aside for a moment, consider the fact that Applied Digital is positioning itself to get some major help — from the federal government.

According to The Business report, “the RFID capsules would be linked to a computerized database being created by the US Department of Health to store and manage the nation’s health records.” Thompson said he “intends to publish the proposal in the next 50 days, by which time he plans to have had a VeriChip inserted in his arm.” The former HHS secretary is definitely positioned to use his past employment to help his new employer.

Conveniently, on June 16, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) and Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) introduced S. 1262, with its very benign-sounding title of “Health Technology to Enhance Quality Act of 2005.” During a press conference at George Washington University Hospital, Senator Clinton tidily summed up the nature of S. 1262: “This legislation marries technology and quality to create a seamless, efficient health care system for the 21st century.” Senator Frist described it as “an interoperable national health information technology system.”

The bipartisan duo proposed before the Senate “three concrete steps” to construct this “seamless” system. The first one would be to establish “standards for electronic medical records.” S. 1262 would codify into statute the Office of National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, an office already set up by President Bush in April 2004. The coordinator’s major duty would be, among other things, to “facilitate the adoption of a national system for the electronic exchange of health information.” This certainly looks like the same system mentioned by the July 31 London-based Business report.

The second step would be to “[reduce] barriers and facilitate the electronic exchange of health information among providers in a secure and private way to improve health care quality and meet community needs.” S. 1262, if enacted, would do just that by bribing states with “incentive grants,” giving priority to those “that provide assurance that any funding awarded under such a grant shall be used to harmonize privacy laws and practices.” Translation: the bill would take money from taxpayers in some states and give it to other states that “harmonize” their laws with the federal government’s standards. And it wouldn’t take long for those reluctant states that are missing out on their share of the spoils to get in line.

Third, S. 1262 would also allow the government to “use the data [collected in the system] to focus intensely on improving the quality of health care.” “With this data,” said Clinton, “we can begin to move to a health care system that actually rewards providers who give their patients superior care.” S. 1262’s “reward” mechanism allows for “competitive grants” to be doled out “to eligible entities to implement regional or local health information plans to improve healthcare quality and efficiency.” Those on the government’s potential client list are “group health plans or other health insurance issuers,” “health centers,” “rural health clinics,” “consumer organizations,” “employers,” or “any other healthcare providers or other entities.”

Senator Clinton, whose efforts to nationalize healthcare were stymied in the 1990s, now has a capable, influential, and willing cosponsor whose conservative veneer is just the right spoonful of sugar to help this totalitarian socialist medicine go down.

If this socialist healthcare scheme is allowed to pass, and Applied Digital succeeds in partnering with government, then Americans will be seduced into accepting a “seamless” nationalized healthcare system. But those who participate will also end up with a medical ID implant that will undoubtedly morph into a mandatory national ID.

Survey: Two-Thirds of Evangelicals Doubt Jesus' Words Regarding Salvation Thru Him Alone [August 26, 2005 @ 3:30pm]

atomicjedi
(AgapePress) - There's a new poll out which points to a growing rejection among Evangelicals that Jesus is the only way of salvation.

For years, most evangelical Christians have been taught and accepted the words of Jesus in John 14:6, where He states, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no man cometh unto the Father but my Me." But now a new Newsweek/Beliefnet poll is showing a shocking number of people who call themselves evangelical and born-again have come to reject those words.

The question in the poll read: "Can a good person who isn't of your religious faith go to heaven or attain salvation, or not?"

According to the poll results of more than 1,000 adults 18 years of age and older, 68 percent of evangelical Christians believe "good" people of other faiths can also go to heaven. Nationally, 79 percent of those surveyed said the same thing, with an "astounding" 91 percent agreement among Catholics, notes Beliefnet. Beliefnet spokesman Steven Waldman calls the results "pretty amazing."

"Evangelicals are among the most churchgoing and religiously attentive people in the United States," Waldman writes, "and one of the ideas they're most likely to hear from the minister at church on a given Sunday is that the path to salvation is through Jesus."

In light of that, how -- he asks -- could so many Americans toss aside such a central element of theology?

Waldman believes the best explanation is found in the Newsweek cover story that grew out of the survey. The conclusion it draws is that Americans have become so focused on a very personal style of worship -- that is, forging a direct relationship with God -- that spiritual experience has begun to supplant dogma, or teaching based on the authority of the Bible.

Javier Solana [August 23, 2005 @ 11:32am]

atomicjedi
Who is this man and what is his interest in Israel?

In 1995, a 10-nation military alliance appeared in Europe. According to Bible prophecy, if the Antichrist was on his way, this 10-nation alliance had to come first. And, it did (Daniel 7:7). (See the 10 nations)

In 1999, a man named Javier Solana appeared on the scene to oversee the EU's foreign and security policy. The same year he also became head over the 10-nation alliance (Daniel 7:8).

One year later, the 10-nation alliance made themselves the official military wing of the EU and Mr. Solana was given emergency powers. This was made official by the Western European Union's Assembly Recommendation 666.

In 2004, the EU's rotating six-month presidency was replaced and Solana was given the title of the EU's first foreign minister.

Now, I am not saying that this man is without a doubt the Antichrist that is foretold in the Bible. The identity of the Antichrist will be revealed when he confirms the covenant (or peace treaty) with many for seven years which he will break in the middle of those years (Daniel 9:27). However, it is interesting to note that Solana's European Neighbourhood Policy is to last from 2007-2013 with a mid-term review period in which Javier Solana himself will be involved. 16 nations have signed up, including Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Israel signed up in December 2004. All countries will have their agreements confirmed on January 1st, 2007. Its prime aim is to bring security and political control to Europe's borders.

Event to watch:
August 28, 2005: Solana will be visiting Israel.

The Coming Destruction of Gaza and the Palestinians, Pt 2 [August 22, 2005 @ 3:50pm]

atomicjedi
Zephaniah 2:1-15

1 Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired;
2 Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD'S anger come upon you.

3 Seek ye the LORD, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the LORD'S anger.
4 For Gaza shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation: they shall drive out Ashdod at the noon day, and Ekron shall be rooted up.
5 Woe unto the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! the word of the LORD is against you; O Canaan, the land of the Philistines, I will even destroy thee, that there shall be no inhabitant.

6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cottages for shepherds, and folds for flocks.
7 And the coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Judah; they shall feed thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lie down in the evening: for the LORD their God shall visit them, and turn away their captivity.
8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the revilings of the children of Ammon, whereby they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
9 Therefore as I live, saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, even the breeding of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall spoil them, and the remnant of my people shall possess them.
10 This shall they have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of the LORD of hosts.
11 The LORD will be terrible unto them: for he will famish all the gods of the earth; and men shall worship him, every one from his place, even all the isles of the heathen.
12 Ye Ethiopians also, ye shall be slain by my sword.
13 And he will stretch out his hand against the north, and destroy Assyria; and will make Nineveh a desolation, and dry like a wilderness.
14 And flocks shall lie down in the midst of her, all the beasts of the nations: both the cormorant and the bittern shall lodge in the upper lintels of it; their voice shall sing in the windows; desolation shall be in the thresholds: for he shall uncover the cedar work.
15 This is the rejoicing city that dwelt carelessly, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation, a place for beasts to lie down in! every one that passeth by her shall hiss, and wag his hand.

The Coming Destruction of Gaza and the Palestinians, Pt 1 [August 21, 2005 @ 12:39pm]

atomicjedi
Amos 1:6-8 (NIV):

"This is what the Lord says:

'For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because she took captive whole communities and sold them to Edom, I will send fire upon the walls of Gaza that will consume her fortresses. I will destroy the king of Ashdod and the one who holds the scepter in Ashkelon. I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines is dead,' says the Sovereign LORD.

HISTORICAL CONNECTION: The Philistines (arch enemies of Israel) inhabited five cities along the south-western coastlands and foothills of Israel -- Gaza, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ekron and Gath. "No area in Biblical history was more frequently contested than the western foothills, lying on the border between Judea and Philistia.... Originally a part of Judah's tribal allotment, the coastal area was never entirely wrested away from the Philistines who may have begun their occupation as early as the time of Abraham" (NIV Study Bible).

According to 2 Chronicles 26:1-7, King Uzziah of Judah went to war against the Philistines in the mid-700's B.C. "God helped him against the Philistines and against the Arabs..." (verse 7). The prophet Amos lived during King Uzziah's lifetime and prophesied God's intentions toward the Philistines saying: "'I will turn my hand against Ekron, till the last of the Philistines is dead,' says the Sovereign Lord."

The NIV Study Bible notes that Philistia was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon. It is believed by some that the Philistines and modern-day Palestinians were descendants of Jacob's brother Esau, also called EDOM. Listen to God's words concerning "the sins of Edom":

Amos 1:11-12 (NIV):

"This is what the Lord says:

'For three sins of EDOM, even for four, I will not turn back my wrath. Because he pursued his brother with a sword, stifling all compassion, because his anger raged continually and his fury flamed unchecked, I will send fire upon Teman that will consume the fortresses of Bozrah.'

Another Gaza connection:

Zechariah 9:5-8 (NIV):

"...Gaza will writhe in agony . . . Gaza will lose her king and Ashkelon will be deserted. Foreigners will occupy Ashdod, and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines. I will take the blood from their mouths, the forbidden food from between their teeth. Those who are left will belong to our God and become leaders of Judah, and Ekron will be like the Jebusites. But I will defend my house against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun my people, for
now I am keeping watch."

Thus the Antichrist Cometh [August 20, 2005 @ 7:55pm]

atomicjedi
by Hal Lindsey

The “Land for Peace” equation, by its very definition, legitimized terrorism as a form of political persuasion. Over the last dozen years, Israel has in effect given up almost all of its hard-won 1967 land in exchange for nothing that even resembles an illusion of peace.

Here are some of the stark facts:

(1) Palestinian leaders have made no effort to disarm or dismantle the existing terror groups.

(2) There has been no recognition of Israel’s right to exist, which is the most basic premise upon which any peace can be based.

This has been rewarded by the Bush administration embracing them as worthy peace partners. The Palestinians aren’t expecting that they will ever destroy Israel. They are using terror to force the world to do it for them.
